The amazing race is our annual community outreach program open to the youth from communities in Observatory, Hillbrow, Berea, Yeoville, Parktown, Doornfontein and Johannesburg city centre. This fun, educational and exciting race has been running since 2015.
In this program, we use interactive and exciting programs to expose young people to opportunities that will channel their attitude toward believing in their God-given gift and give them a sense of renewal in their ability to effect change in their families, schools, and communities at large.
The program exposes young people to opportunities within their city and inspiring them to participate in shaping their country.
The different stops of the race are usually unknown to the participants and participants receive clues to help them navigate The Amazing Race route for that particular year.
We have in the past visited areas such as Afrikka Tikkun, Johannesburg Arts Gallery, Africa Museum, Wits Museum, Constitutional Hill and The Astronomical Society of South Africa.
For logistical reasons, space is limited to the first 100 young people to register. Ten groups of ten people battle it out for the top three positions and get to have fun and learn at the same time, but first, they battle it out to be part of the 100 registered in the race.
We don’t just call it, “The Amazing Race”, it is AMAZING!
